BioShock 2 - First multiplayer trailer

Judge Digital Extreme's online component as it moves
The first BioShock 2 multiplayer trailer has arrived - here it is.

The online component is being developed by Dark Sector and BioShock PS3 dev Digital Extremes, and has you gaining experience, unlocking Plasmids and customising your character in a CoD 4-esque setup.

It doesn't sound too bad actually, although we're not convinced this trailer does it justice. Read more about the multiplayer here.

I love Bioshock 1, I'm very looking forward to this, the multi should be interesting, something different to the Halo's and Call of Duty's at least.

I must admit that it looked quite good fun from that video. Using different plasmids to fight would certainly add variety to the usual run and gun gameplay....

Mmm, not bad.

I do like the U3 engine.

Multiplayer in the Bioshock setting is much more appealing to me than the more realistic setting of COD4.

We'll see how much of an advatage they have having a different set of developers work at separate components of the game. I wonder if there will be a marked difference in feel resulting from this in the end. I hope it doesn't make the game feel disjointed.

While it does look fun i do hope that it doesnt in any way affect the sp. It shouldnt though considering how its being developed by a different team so its all thumbs up from me Smile

I think if it has a slightly different feel it would be a good thing, as you are controlling vastly different characters in the each part. However i too hope its not too different,

I think i'll be going online with this, hopefully there won't be so many snots playing bioshock. Also it looks suitably different to actually be fun.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! Batman is the new Bioshock!
YouGuysRock7 on 4 Sep '09
i agree with YC i am fan of bioshock altho i believe its a bit over rated with 10s it wont be as good as mw2 but i could come close or rival but not atm with its amount of game modes and variety
weker on 4 Sep '09
i think you missed the point of that statement.

Batmans great. but's not as good as bioshock.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 4 Sep '09
I can already see the drama on those servers.

"NO BIG DADDIES GOD DAMMIT"
"NO TURRETS"
"NO ELECTRIFYING WATER!!"
Daodan on 4 Sep '09
It looks quite fun though I'm kinda worried about the character models. I'm all up for playing the woman from Left 4 Dead for a laugh, but cant really see myself being taken seriously as a crazy fat male/female resident of Rapture. Can they all have capes or something?
gothchild on 4 Sep '09
Looks good, kind of like a dark upscaled Team fortress?
Dr_Phibes666 on 4 Sep '09
The Dev Team behind Dark Sector are doing the MP for Bioshock, right?

get out of it. MW2 will be exactly the same as MW. and every other COD for that matter.

Bioshock on the other hand looks like it'll be frantic and fun.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 4 Sep '09
I need a fps to have a blast on myself. Will be nice to try something a little different this time around. Although I do have Left 4 Dead that I play occasionally. Trying to get my friends to buy it, but they are bloody useless! Smile

Looking Good Razz!
Corblex on 4 Sep '09
Wow, that looks well fun. I hope they have Unreal Tournament-esque "multi-kill" shouts, because you could really wrack your kills up, or kill a bunch of others at once with this game.

I agree the trailer doesn't do it justice, but it does look great fun. Only way I see it being better than MW1/2 is with there being plasmids, so it's different to most multiplayer games out there.
Adzyboy on 4 Sep '09
This looks s**t compared to the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. But, I will be buying this for the singleplayer so it matters not.
Little Moth on 5 Sep '09
hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm......that doesn't look great does it?

Can see it being fun for a week and then there being lots of empty servers after 3 months, I may be wrong, it might be fun, looks frantic anyway, cr*p vid though, cant see why the makers of dark sector would be a plus point that had terrible mp.

This game will surely deliver single player excellence I have gears/halo/cod/grid for multilayer mayhem..

I want my Bioshock two to be a beautifully crafted layered, fright gripping suspense filled emotional rollercoaster.....
ewko117 on 5 Sep '09
i am still to finish the first game, which i really want to do, so once i have then i will look forward to no.2 but will be very interesting to see how the multiplayer ends up. Playing as a big daddy looks a lot of fun though
