Call of Duty 4 Wii renamed

Activision sneaks new title into Nintendo rehash
It looks like Activision has, for whatever reason, slapped the word 'Reflex' onto the end of Call of Duty 4 on Wii.

The now-named CoD 4: Reflex is sat in a recent Nintendo Holiday Line-up release for a November 10 launch. CoD: World at War developer Treyarch is in charge of the Wii port, which was originally crafted by Infinity Ward for 360, PS3 and PC.

You should check out these screens because it actually doesn't look too bad. Then check out these hands-on impressions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode, because that's what really matters.

It's Modern Warfare: Reflex, they removed the 4 from the Call of duty. Reflex sounds stupid, they should of just called it Modern Wafare Wii Edition.

yeh yeh yeh...blah blah blah...trust me everybody. cod world at war sucks big time. i think they lifted the graphics from an old n64 port that got cancelled because it looked better than the wii game Wink i think miss wacy maybe a wii only owner in which case you have my deepest sympathy. Get the home brew channel wacey. It’s the only thing now the wii has going for it. Next you’ll be telling me the conduit had the best graphics ever!!!!!

You do realise that you sound like such a c**k don't you? But this is a total cash-in of a game. I guess MW2 for the Wii will follow in 2 years time Rolling Eyes

Yes I do. Do you realise your opinion to me means squat! And what are you doing on the school computer when you’re meant to be in a lesson?

Oh god it looks awful - like something from a PS2.

No more like something from N64/PS1, but don't worry, those are pre-beta screens, the final product is said to be better than WAW on Wii.
YCshinobi on 16 Sep '09
It doesn't look good in my opinion. To me it seems that when a company alters the title of a game for the Wii it means its going to be a poor conversion or a Wii 'lite' version. Its almost like its a safety net for them to so if people make comparisons they can say it's not the same game but a 'new' version.

It doesn't give me much faith in it when I think back to games such as Fifa 'all play', 'MY' sims, Far Cry 'vengence' and such like...

We'll see...

I do also feel like it's a 'Lite' version when they change the name like that. I definitely thought that when I first read this. We'll see in good time how good it is I guess.

Oh c-mon! Be nice please?1?!?! please?

Wii is a great machine. Does it deserve this much hate?

I grew up in the arcades and this does seem to emulate that feeling from when I was young. Actually, when you think about it, it has that arcade feel when you have a game, then the next person takes over. Or you all play together (Like Daytona USA)Oh, how good was that?!?!

Smile

has simon le bon worked on the soundtrack??
angelus1karl on 17 Sep '09
itoo grew up in the arcades and know how you feel. Kids today don't understand i tells ye.

The wii version of COD4 will be ok, The condit btw was great, at least from a control and Multiplayer aspect. The singleplayer started out great but then went down hill pretty fast, but at least they tried.

@ Rodger. The wii has more going for it than the Homebrew channel which although it opens up the capabilities of the machine isn't the be all and end all, considering your comment i have a feeling you don't have the necessary intellect to get it to work anyway.

Oh come on Monkey. Don’t get me wrong, I was a great fan of the wii and one of the few people who said it was going to sell by the bucket load before it was released and everybody and his dog were saying it wont because of the name. I do like a wind up of course but when you look at the wii and the titles now they are mostly drivel. I have played hours on AAA titles like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Resi 4 (best game ever and a wii title, resi 5 on ps3 could not touch this) and of course Zelda. But now, 99% of the games that are coming out are dreadful. The conduit for example was meant to be amazing. Have you witnessed the graphics? World at War has the most appalling graphics also, literally like something from an N64 title. There’s just nothing coming close to the games on the 360/ps3 at the moment. Maybe a new Zelda / Mario would brighten things up as much as Grand Slam Tennis did, but that too with me only lasted a few hours. The home brew channel on the other hand is great and put some much needed new life into the wii. It means you can play all your snes / n64 / genesis plus loads of other emu games without forking out on the virtual consol stuff. Plus, not that I do, but my wii is now a dvd player. Why Nintendo don’t do an update for this is anybody’s guess. They could even sell a patch for a tenner and I’d bet thousands would bite their hands off. So, here I am not after a wind up but telling it like it is. In my opinion the wii started off good (could have done with hd output) and has gradually got worse and worse. No effort has been made by publishers to push this consol (the ps1 and 2 were pushed to the limit) as they all know a few mini games with N64 graphics that take no effort to produce will sell to a very sad audience.

Thumbs up!

I have to agree but it seems with some people you cannot express an opinion or speak the sad truth about the Wii without being called a troll, a Wiihater or Xbox/PS3fanboy on this forum... But well put and fully agree.

I got this game today and the graphics are very good. However DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR THE Wii... The controls are extreamly poor with this game and ruins the game play. I have COD 4 for PC and the game is awesome, But on the Wii, forget it.... Crying or Very sadCrying or Very sad
