APB: First gameplay footage

See Crackdown dev's promising MMO in motion
Crackdown dev Realtime Worlds, has released the first proper gameplay footage of its 'GTA MMO', All-Points Bulletin (APB).

In case you missed it so far, APB is basically an online game of cops and robbers, where player Old Bill get dynamically dispatched to apprehend player crooks whenever they commit a crime.

It sounds fantastic, as you'll know if you've read this APB preview.

That video was worth watching just for the bit at the end. Razz

Looking forward to seeing more on this, the preview I read a while back made it sound very promising.

It looks fantastic but will people really pay to have in effect a GTA online mode? Will be interesting to see how it holds its own as an MMO with development of your character etc. It does look like it has potential though!

I've been looking forward to APB since it first got announced. I'm still praying for them to release a 360 version like they said they were considering at the start.
NaththeNarc on 18 Sep '09
what Nath said really, always been following APB the character creation tool is one of the powerfulist I have ever seen within a title.
I am a bit weery about will people actually pay for a full-online gta mode in a sense, and the potential lifespan of the title (how long till it dies with not enough players), but I too also hope it arrives to 360 as my PC has no hope in handling this title.

But yeah, i love it 'nuff said.

ps; ...must find song for that video -- its class!

I'm uneasy about multiplayer-only games creeping in on the market. Am I the only one who doesn't have Live and is such snubbed by the Live community, destined to wander among the shadows with the dregs of society. I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE DASHBOARD UPDATE UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, AND EVEN THAT WAS ONLY ON AN OXM DISC! And now I wish I hadn't because the blades were so much better Sad

My main concern is the subscription model if it does make it to consoles, hopefully they'll reveal that soon.
