Here are some new shots of Gran Turismo 5 looking as expectedly shiny and polished as ever.
Sony last week confirmed that the full-fat version of its flagship racer, widely expected to hit shelves this year, in fact won't be out until March 2010. So you'll have to make do with Prologue for a few months yet.

Sony must ensure this game surpasses all expectations otherwise they are going to look very very stupid, hopefully the god-awful PSP version content is no reflection of it's bigger brother. After all this time (how long is it now?) I want a GT to lose several months in, it HAS to be perfect.
I would rather there was no damage model at all if it is going to look like the early screens, why on earth do they not adopt a full damage model, I know it used to be for licensing reasons but countless games have since included both official licenses and full damage models?
Whilst the graphics are nice (tbh I think DIRT2 is pretty much on par), the cardboard cut-out damage modeling just wrecks it.
Dirt2 is a fantastic game once you get into it. I'm really enjoying the lengthy career mode. However, I played Prologue last night for the first time in months and it still looks fantastic. Parts of the background (such as trees) can look a bit rubbish, but the cars themselves are astonishingly realistic at times.
Apparently, the reason for the March GT5 release date was to perfect the damage modelling. This gives it at least 5 months of tweaking. And at least PD are listening to complaints.
I am just happy that (according to IGN) all cars will have full damage and that nearly 200 cars will have interior damage! The interiors look amazing too, especially now they have been incorporated into the replays.
I really can't wait until (confirmed at last!) March. And Forza 3 (+DIRT2 and SHIFT) should keep me pretty happy until then.
I wouldn't judge this by the lame PSP version. I'm sure this will be amazing, as it should be considering 3 Forza games were produced in the same time.
OK so we have to wait till March next year. But look at those graphics and in my opinion after playing the Forza 3 demo GT5 still has the edge when it comes to making you feel like you are driving the cars. Also check out the shot of the brand new Ferrari 458 Italia, looks like GT5 will have the edge on car count and variety.
Nah Dirt 2 doesnt look as good as forza 3 let alone GT5
Eh, are you sure, because Forza 3 on my 360 does not look as good as dirt 2. Forza 3 has a slight cartoon look which is slightly off putting and the c**kpit view is no where near as effective as GT5P. In fact i was dissapointed with Forza 3 after all the hype.
I am sick and tired of watching videos running of the high end pc's the games are made on at crazy resolutions and AA/AF and I'm also tired of the endless use of after effects on videos and photoshop on images by all devs. Surely it amounts to false advertising??? I WANT REAL VIDEOS AND IMAGES TO JUDGE FOR MYSELF.
Both Forza 3 and GT5 will be great games no doubt about that.
But stop pretending that Forza 3 is on par graphics-wise with GT5 or even Dirt 2 for gods sake. The demo is already out,and although it looks very very good there are lots of aliasing issues, some visual glitches(the road dissappears in the replays),some backgrounds dont look so hot and so on.Its clearly a step behind GT5 1080p,60fps ,car-porn graphics. It still looks very good and will play like a dream.
As for the damage in GT5,its still a work in progress ,and my guts tell me its the real reason its not coming in 2009.They are adding damage to all the cars and probably full damage models.Still ,we dont want full real damage or we couldnt play the damn thing.
