More evidence has emerged that EA's Medal of Honor series is set to follow in Call of Duty's lead, with its own modern makeover.
The CV of an ex-Electronic Arts employee - spotted on Linked In - lists "a Medal of Honor modern combat title" as past work experience.
It's not the first time the project's been mentioned either: Last year a supposed EA questionnaire outed "Medal of Honor: Operation Anaconda", supposedly set during the 2002 operation of the same name.
The game is said to put you in the role of multiple soldiers during one of the "greatest disasters of modern history," which saw helicopter crew stranded in the Taliban-filled Afghan mountains.
I think it could be a good move, but i really loved the last game Airbourne, thought it was fantastic, I know there was only 6levels , but they were great levels and contols were some of best i played in a FPS(console). More of the same would be good but a new direction could also be good.
Ever since the guys of Infinity Ward jumped this sinking ship it's been playing catch up, so I'm not expecting this to be anywhere near the same league as MW2, although I would so love to be proven wrong about it.
I see more modern/contemporary war campaigns in gaming as a positive thing providing they meet a certain standard. While IW does indeed seem to be at top of the pile currently, I do think EA has the resources and determination to strive for a similarly lofty perch given its new found focus on quality vs. quantity.
Pretty good. I was put off getting Airborne because of the WW2 setting again. What would be ideal is lots more levels, at least 15 single player ones, and a decent multiplayer with well designed maps, unlockable weapons and an XP system. Could then be a nice alternative to MW.
A few people may see this as jumping a bandwagon I expect, but there can only be one trend setter..and IW have set a high standard for this I myself only have happy memories of early MOH games-Front-line on the x box/ps2 was an excellent game, It would be nice to see a return to form with a reinvigorated plot/subject...bring it on please...just dont try an clone MW.and don't try to hard with the MP, make it a great campaign driven piece..you can have my 40 quid
