David Bowie playable in Lego Rock Band

Alongside Iggy Pop
Iggy Pop and David Bowie are playable characters in Harmonix and Traveller's Tales' Lego Rock Band.

The animations of Bowie, his band and the venue for the LEGO version of Let's Dance are loosely based on the original music video (but blockier, obviously), reports USA Today.

"Those two are pretty unreal. They are both artists who have a great sense of humor," Harmonix's John Drake said.

"Iggy Pop does the GTA soundtrack DJ (on Liberty Rock Radio 97.7 in Grand Theft Auto IV) and David Bowie was on (Ricky Gervais' HBO series) Extras. But they are also very serious artists who are really important."

I was so sure that this was supposed to be aimed at the kids, which makes Iggy Pop and Bowie bizarre choices. Still, having "The Passenger" and "Let's Dance" already makes this far superior to Band Hero.

Bowie looks awful in that pic - I assume that's from the Let's Dance/Serious Moonlight era, judging by the clothes and hair. Seems a little odd to have Bowie and Iggy on a game that's aimed at kids.

I notice that they have him with his eyes as two different colours - strangely, that's actually a bit of a myth. His eyes aren't different colours, it's just that in certain light they appear to be....his eyes are actually both blue.

I would now consider this game just so I can be Bowie!

This is the second time Bowie has been in a game, he was also in Outcast....I also brought that!

I remember....don't remember it being that good though.

So do Bowie and Iggy go to a Lego Berlin, to get off Lego drugs and make amazing albums with a Lego Eno?

Sounds sweet!

He was also in Omikron.

But does Lego Bowie only sing Lego Bowie songs, or can Lego Bowie be unlocked to sing any Lego songs? And if so will Lego Iman sue the Lego s**t out of Lego Harmonix?

Ooooh - Lego Eno, waxing lyrical about perfume!

Actually, sod this - give us Station to Station on GH or RB!

Is Win on RB/GH?

Or DJ/Guitar Hero mashup of Another Green World. Fripp on guitar, with Eno on synth and vocal duties!

I'm not sure, to be honest. Doubt it though.

I think that GTA has probably had more Young Americans songs than any other game - 2 so far! ('Fascination' on GTA4 and 'Somebody Up There Likes Me' on San Andreas). Can't fault their taste though, it's a fantastic album.

Plastic Soul FTW!
