BattleForge levels up to DirectX 11

"High definition ambient occlusion" up for the taking
Free to play RTS BattleForge has become the first title to use Microsoft's DirectX 11 and AMD's new ATI graphic processor chipset, reckons EA. Here's word on the fancy, new stuff your PC just might be able to handle if you're lucky.

According to the release, "BattleForge players will now experience unparalleled graphic performance and even richer visuals including DirectX 11 specific features like high definition ambient occlusion (HDAO)." If you know what that is, tell us in the comments section.

"By delivering the first DirectX 11 game, the team at Phenomic is demonstrating its commitment to the many fans of BattleForge," said Rick Bergman of AMD. "When matched with our cutting-edge DirectX 11 graphics hardware, the jump to DirectX 11 helps ensure an improved game experience both in terms of performance and image quality."

I would prefer it if they focused on the balance issues then went on to make some more cards before doing something like this.
