Zombies hordes have infested gaming broadband connections over the past year, as Left4Dead unsurprisingly scoops the Golden Joysticks Online Game of the Year award.

A Boomer puked all over Call of Duty: World at War's chances of winning, which took a close second. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria, followed those.
Clearly, zombie-killing modes equal win. Developers take note.
I have said this a few times before but..... I just don't 'get' Left 4 Dead. The graphics are pretty and it's all very well put together, there is just something that I'm not sure about. I've treid many, many times to like it but I just don't.
FinalBillybong, have you played it with close friends, with mics, or just random people over the Internet? I can tell you there's generally a big difference between the two. I play with friends of mine and the whole experience shines, but not so much with random pubbies. It's a very social experience, even compared to other co-op games, and you depend very much on your buddies. I can't stress that enough. I hope you're not playing mostly with the bots.
Other than that, I can only suggest that maybe it's not your cup of tea? Everyone's different...

I have to be honest. It's only been with bots or random people on the net. None of my friends are online so I am at the mercy of Valves matchmaking system.
I love FPS's and I love zombies there is just something i don't get about L4D. I dunno, I want to like it. I just don't.
Seriously, dude, get a mic, get some friends with mics, and play Versus. I've sunk HUNDREDS of hours into it!
Maybe even join a group on Steam - the experience with friends and mics is so completely different. There's a certain amount of camaraderie to it too, lol. You just can't beat the feeling of being the last one standing, and reviving your downed friends, then limping on to the Safe House, covering them as you go.
