One of the surprises of the show was who you lot named Best UK Developer. The gong didn't go to Rockstar North for GTA, or Lionhead for Fable or even Codemasters or Media Molecule. Nope, the best UK dev went to Jagex.
While the name might not immediately ring any bells, it's the studio behind the incredibly popular free-to-play MMO RuneScape. In fact it hold a Guinness World Record for the world's most popular free MMO. Not surprised any more are you?
Played Runescape for a short while and just couldn't get into it!
The fact that Jagex were voted best UK studio just shows the number of PC gamers that must have voted in this category or maybe it was a protest vote against the console community.
It says somthing when runescape got a world record for being the most popular fee MMORPG, so out of popularity and the achivement of making a game so good that so many people want to play, they earned it.
No matter hwat anyone says, JAGEX earned the award, as it takes a good games studio to make a game so good it attracts enough players to make it into the record books.

Congratulations on winning UK Developer of the Year Jagex! As a long time player of RuneScape, I think you definitely deserved it; the game is great and has a lot more room for expansion.

FFS!!...enough creating the new accounts to heap praise on Jagex and Runescape...the award is dubious at best and if it wasn't free wouldn't even be in the reckoning!
I've played Runescape for over 5 years & paid for all but the 1st month. If Jagex wasn't doing something right do you think my daughter & I would have been members for this long? They got my vote & they deserved it.
Gratz, Jagex. You deserved to win after RuneScape and Funorb. I voted for it of course, and I can't wait to see what your new game, Stellar Dawn/ Mechscape will be like.
Yay! I am happy that I was apart of the vote to make Jagex a winner. I do miss the old Runescape but the J Mods are still cool people even though RS kinda went flat on my list of games to play.
