Metro 2033 screenshots looking good

Take a new look at Ex-STALKER devs' 360, PC shooter
Long, long in-development post-apocalyptic shooter, Metro 2033 has new screenshots. Here they are.

THQ is the publisher behind the now 360 and PC-only first-person shooter (PS3 has been seemingly dropped), and it promises to "plunge gamers into a terrifying vision of the future."

Set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where "the fate of mankind rests in your hands", says the publisher.

Read a bit more about the game in this Metro 2033 news story.

wow looks beautiful, and the premise sounds cool. There needs to be more games set in russia i think.

It looks just like a more detailed STALKER, and that can't be bad. I guess the post-apocalypse Russia thing is going to look sort of similar.
STALKER was a slightly-flawed gem though, brilliantly atmospheric with a great story and range of choices, some good scares and nice RPG mechanics, but with the odd issue that cropped up.
With that experience under their belt, there's no reason this one won't be as good, if not better.

While I did enjoy "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC", I think it's fair to say that it was more than just a little flawed when released. I can only hope that "Metro 2033" actually gets tested and fine-tuned in ways "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC" wasn't.
