360 Games on Demand gets two more

Far Cry 2, Battlefield on Xbox Live
This week's Xbox Live Games on Demand releases are Far Cry 2 and Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, Microsoft's confirmed.

But there's a catch: Battlefield 2 is only available in North America and Asia, while Far Cry 2 is available everywhere except for North America. We know which game we'd rather have.

Really really liked Far Cry 2. Was suprisingly atmospheric for a first person shooter. my only slight grape was that it was so much easier to complete, if you use the Sniper rifles.

Anyway, no way would I pay 20 quid for a digital only, when you can get a physical copy 2nd hand for about 8 pounds in some places.

I actually bought this used from ebay last week for £6.01

Just waiting for it to be delivered now. Damn postal strikes are messing with my gaming time. Haha.

@2 posts above:

Exactly. I know Microsoft are going for the 'impulse buyers', but who is going to spend 20quid on a whim, when you are able to get it for less than half the price for a resellable copy?

Far Cry 2 is the only game I've ever given up on that I've liked.

The game looks great. I love the setting. I liked the missions and the real world feel. In fact I liked everything about it except one thing and this is possibly the single most important thing in a game... the controls!

Games like Halo or Modern Warfare and many other very popular first-person shooters usually have very accurate, smooth and comfortable controls. Far Cry 2's are the worst I've ever experienced. The acceleration as your turn moves faster the further you pull or push on the thumbstick is set too high. It's set at a fixed rate with the basic speed of viewing. Slowing down the view still has the acceleration too fast.

It's a shame that I had to give up with Far Cry 2 because I was interested in making maps. Poor controls killed that game for me and I'm sure for many others too.

Obviously high pricing issue aside, this game is great, im playing it very slowly through for the second time. This time im on hardcore mode and loving it, its a great thinking mans FPS and often the A.I. is really spot on. Nothing like sniping a barrell from miles away just to see armed men run out of hiding to get away from the spreading fire.
Doing all the sub missions this time

Well, the control sensetivity is adjustable in the options menu.
Found it to move too fast, so I turned the sensetivity down with 40% or something and it controls quite well actually.
