Activision's upcoming shooter Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is being heavily tipped to break entertainment launch records following its release on November 10.
"As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we've taken for the game is the highest for any title we've ever sold in our 6,200 store network," Tony Bartel, executive vice president for merchandising and marketing at US retailer GameStop, told USA Today. "By all indicators, we anticipate Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time."

Last year Grand Theft Auto IV sold 3.6 million units on its opening day with a retail value of approximately $310 million, and generated over $500 million during its launch week, surpassing the all-time entertainment records for day one and week one sales by dollar value, according to publisher Take-Two.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said in a research note this week that he expects global Modern Warfare 2 sales "to exceed $500 million in the first week following launch", and that Activision "can easily sell ten million units in Q4".
Mike Hickey with Janco Partners forecast in June that the Infinity Ward developed Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game would sell 11.1 million units by the end of 2009, generating $803 million at retail.
Well done to IW, they are getting stick all over the net just now but I congratulate them on what will surely be the best COD so far (and thats saying something).
If were going to hate then it should be Activision were hating on, IW are just trying to make a Game we want to play.
Games deserve to be the biggest entertainment medium. The best developers, like Rockstar and IW, are making better products than the movie studios I reckon. I got about 50 hours of enjoyment out of GTA, can't say that about any movie release.
It'll certainly be interesting to see how it'll do - I'm not sure I can see it outdoing something like Mario Kart Wii, to be honest (and that's on a single platform).
It'll no doubt be the years biggest seller though.
KVD's petition will stop this being the biggest ever selling game ever...I'm sure of it
You give me too much credit, Neon. The petition didn't originate with me, but I signed it and I stand by my actions on this matter. If you are going to get involved in this matter you would do well to actually understand what is at stake. Feel free to read the PC Gamer blog section on this forum. One of the journalists quite nicely sums up why he supports the petition and what it actually means for PC gamers.
The main thing being ....... maximum 9v9 maps only!
Well BC2 it is then.
9v9?!
That's what I consider a medium attendance on CS:Source at best. I'm confident I've made the right choice for myself by pre-ordering "L4D2" after playing the demo yesterday. Such fun!

I am gonna be downloading the demo for L4D2 tonight. I have already badgered my friends into getting it also. Can't wait to get home from work today

Dude I'm only Joking with you, I hear what your saying, but dont you think you'd be better taking your argument to Activision or better still IW instead of putting your argument to us, unfortunately its the way of the world we are all getting screwed over. But I wouldnt be prepared to boycott a great game for the sake of dedicated servers or that extra Ł5, but fair play to you for speaking out for the P.c community and maybe in time when IW realises that MW2 is not doing so well on the p.c because of it then they will realise thier mistake(s) 9vs9 on the P.c doesnt sound too good either. I dont play many games on P.c but I do realise that BF2 would nether have been the game it was without dedicated servers(still my favourite game).
I think this could be the most popular game I'll never play. It will be if it outsells CoD4.
Don't know what it is, CoD4 has just never interested me and the price is a rip off for a two year old game, even over Ł30 second hand in Game etc. And joining online now against people who have played it for two years? I'd get nailed!
And I certainly don't have any interest in paying big money for it, not with L4D2 and NSMBWii on the horizon. If I see if for Ł30 around launch maybe I'd be tempted with an impulse buy, but haven't seen CoD4 that cheap in the shops!

Though not a COD fan, I can totally see your point. I can't see too many PC fans being happy with this news.
lol I see what you did there BBC2 = Battlefield Bad Company 2 though my sitcom where I spend a week in a room with 4 Norweigian strippers just didn't fly with the beeb for some reason, hey ho.

The 100 ping comment had me pi$$ing myself laughing.... and it was great! LMAO!!!
I got those pings a decade ago. I am really looking forward to seeing how IW.net runs when it is released now. I don't think it will be the end of the story by far.

IW turned down a big budget on this sequel and activision charged us the premium anyway.
too many things about this project i disagree with. tying the pc version to steam to deliver paid-for DLC just stinks of typical activision greed. and taking away mods so you have no choice if you want fresh maps - go f**k yourself activision, and even IW. sellouts.
Well it's no f**king surprise if this game makes more money than GTA IV even if it ends up selling less, considering suckers than me are paying ridiculous prices for the collector's edition, let alone the special and normal editions.
And that's not even including the game bundled with the MW2 Super Elite which honestly I am still very tempted to buy, if for the 250GB HDD alone...

Fair enough, and what you suggest has already been done. I sent an e-mail from my personal account to Activision with the confirmation of my pre-order cancelation attached to it after having signed the petition. I cordially, if cooly, outlined my position in regards to their decision not to support dedicated servers for the PC version of "MW2". Will that alone change their minds? Who knows. I personally doubt it but at least now I have put my money where my mouth is.

Try one of the Scandinavian countries or The Netherlands. At one point there was a completely nude-all-24-hours-a-day "Big Brother" spin-off that was all about the people in the house having sex. I only heard about it on a show that showcased bizarre shows. The naked show was canceled btw.

100 pings?! This just keeps getting better and better...Sure, at 100 pings an online FPS game is do-able presuming most of the other players have similar ping levels, but it will hardly revolutionize the online gaming experience.

Awh that's a shame as I'm off to the Netherlands next year
so your not going to buy this game under any circumstances now KVD lol it was just afew days ago you was going to buy it out of a bargain bin or maybe second hand. My my how times have changed. They looked at your email rolled their eyes and said He will crack
Considering the game is out in a weeks time, I am surprised that I haven't seen any reviews... Not that I think it won't score highly, but still...
Does anyone know when the embargo is actually lifted? Ive seen one or two 'reviews' but they dont look like reputable sites.
I'm waiting on my subscription copy of "Gamesmaster" mag any day now, which should have a review of it, but I know it'll get 99% anyway.
As for KFD, we all know you'll be pirating this game, your just looking for an excuse to do so, and waving your cancelled pre-order around proves nothing(other that what a little drama-queen you really are).
No dedi announcement and game release timed to miss 2 issues of most gaming mags last PCZ had a hands on MP from "log" then no dedi announcement made after going to press! Game will ship and hit shops BEFORE review copy of PCZ hits the shelves, conspiracy much?? bravo IW

You've only recently become active with this profile, Moss, so I'll let your ignorance slide this time. I have stated on numerous "MW2" related threads that I will either never play this game, or I will pick it up second-hand or from the discount bin (which, if CoD4 is anything to go by, could take several years). Things do change though; constantly. To prove that point all you have to do is examine the constant state of motion of molecules which make-up the universe. Now tell me, were you just born with a moronic streak or did you work hard to develop it?
P.S. Depending on what sort of activation scheme "MW2" comes with, I may opt to pick it up second-hand, thus denying both Activision and IW my money. However, it was recently reported Activision reached a deal with Valve to use Steamworks for this game, so I'm not too optimistic about this option being viable.

I'll take "drama queen" over "knuckle-dragging Neanderthal" any day of the week, Ted. Could I pirate this game? Probably given the history of the ever so useless anti-piracy measures used by . Will I? Guess you'll know for sure. Do let that uncertainty get under your skin until you rub it bleeding raw by all means.
Check that: Let's make this a bit more interesting, shall we? How many games have you bought since June 2009, Ted? Multi-platform is fine. Not counting the three games I have pre-ordered right this moment ("Dragon Age: Origins" should be shipping any day now,) I have purchased 25 games since June between my PC and Xbox 360. I don't need to pirate anything relating to games, music nor movies for that matter. I have a lifestyle that leaves me plenty of disposable income every month after having paid all my bills and other financial obligations. If, and that's a substantial "if", I were to pirate a game it would be due to one of two reasons: 1) I already own a legal version of a game and due to inept programming it won't run on my machines without cracked coding from third parties. 2) If a company published a game that wouldn't run on my machines and I had paid good money for it and couldn't get it to run with work arounds, I might decide that an "eye for an eye" is the only law that works with them at present time and ensure that the debt owed to me is paid in full either with that same game or a game released by that same company. "MW2" does not currently fall within either of those criteria.
Now since you are so interested in the pirating habits, or lack thereof, of others perhaps you'd like to share your own sordid details? Ever pirated a game, Ted?
No dedi announcement and game release timed to miss 2 issues of most gaming mags last PCZ had a hands on MP from "log" then no dedi announcement made after going to press! Game will ship and hit shops BEFORE review copy of PCZ hits the shelves, conspiracy much?? bravo IW
It stinks to high heaven and only the apologists and the ignorant haven't caught on. Oh well, as another poster pointed out in a thread on this forum, the people who buy this for the console may be quite happy since they are getting what they are expecting/used to and may not know any better. For many PC gamers however, it's an entirely different story.
I just rcieved an email from GAME telling me my copy is on it's way via special courier so I will be killing terrorist scum very very soon. Wonder if Captain Price is in it.............

You know, Moss, so did I and then you had to go and take another shot. I am a firm adherent of the right to self-defence and I will engage in it liberally. As to your claim that I know nothing, well, I can live with that in light of the reason that the Delphic oracle pronounced Socrates to be the wisest Greek because Socrates modestly made the comment “'Tis because I alone of all the Greeks know that I know nothing." So while I may not "know" much, I certainly have many ideas.
Speaking of bluffing and bull faeces, you have spouted many impressive sounding terms, names and concepts out in your recent post; care to back up your claims of intimate familiarity with all of them? Sadly it is all but impossible to verify that you won't be going through various physical and/or online encyclopedias to find the answers, thus it is a display that will fail to prove your self-proclaimed brilliance. How convenient, I'm sure. Oh, and conspiracy theories are hardly impressive intellectual matter in respectable academic circles for the most part. By their very nature they are difficult to prove and/or disprove, thus any clown off the street can come up with some half-baked so-called "theory". Some of them do make for entertaining reading however, and perhaps even fewer of them may contain the occasional kernel of truth. I find it is all to easy to fall sway to various conspiracy theories simply out of a desire to want those theories to be true for a variety of reasons; perhaps for some it is because they long for a more mysterious, thrilling and scary world that renders their lot in life in this world somehow more unique than what the generally accepted day-to-day reality seems to offer.
You keep accusing me of the very things you are guilty of. Do you even fathom this or is that also convenient to block out of mind and sight? You might do well to ponder this, for in the words of Mark Twain, "A man is never more truthful than when he acknowledges himself a liar". Regardless, I will promise you this: I will desist our little engagements only after you stop or upon either one of our deaths. I don't know about you, but personally I have good reason to expect many decades of life still.
b.t.w. a little gaming trivia for you. Half life is based on the legend that surrounds dulce. Now ive never played the game (but would like to someday)or read much to do with the game. but anyone who has would find it real interesting or a nightmare if it were true. Word of caution though for anyone who believes the legend.....tread carefully learning about it. lol

You haven't played Half-Life 1 & 2 nor the episodic content yet (Valve! Where's "Episode 3"?!)? Even though HL1 will show it's age today, it's a gem of a game and HL2 can still pull some punches despite also not looking quite state-of-the-art anymore. Game play and plot wise however, both games are, IMO, rather special. The episodic content was also first rate. All of it comes highly recommended and not just by me.
ok right, noted about half life and will pick it up as im sure ive seen a ps3 double edition somewhere. Not going to get dragged into a physics debate with you unless you want to ask something youd like to here my take on it as you obviously believe your the only one to know about this subject, ohh and your academic circles lol.
As for conspiracy, i never once mentioned a conspiracy. heres a list of documentaries you might want to look at before dismissing fact for conspiracy.
DARK SECRETS INSIDE BOHEMIAN GROVE:- Bohemian grove is home to the Bohemian club founded in the1880s and located among the great Redwoods of north California. Every year all the worlds leaders and 'super elite' meet up there in july and take part in homosexual orgies and pagenistic rituals, one of which "The cremation of dull care" is a mock human sacrifice infront of a 45ft statue of a owl named molech...hard to believe? well yes they used to deny it existance, till someone infiltrated the grove in 2003 and secretly filmed the ceremony!! Now they say its just abit of fun lol.
UFO HUNTERS Underground bases:-Now this is THE only program ive ever seen aired on Dulce. Other points to look for is THE DULCE PAPERS (apparently papers and pics taken from the underground base) And DULCE WARS (about a war thats going on between the gray aliens and secret service soliders in the base) Also look at a talk by Phil Schnider on youtube who claims he was there at the battle. Now i take dulce with a pinch of salt but if you liked half life whats supposed to go on there will blow your mind lol,And with so many consistencies with the birth of the 3rd reich, their Occult beliefs, and the vril society.it makes area 51 look like the very tip of the iceburg!
NAZI OCCULT/HITLER AND THE OCCULT/THE OCCULT CONSPIRACY:-Theres 3 documentaries you might want to look at concerning the birth of the Nazi party and why they did the sickening deluded things they did...Oh yes and theres recent one called DAS GLOCK/THE BELL In english.
The Bilderburgers are a group of the worlds most powerful people including Rockerfella, other world bankers captains of industry and even yes your queen of Holland who get together every year and decide on matters of the world even vetting new world leaders before they came to power.
Ill leave it that for now but do try to watch these before lambasting me as a conspiracy theorist

Don't forget to include yourself in the group of people in the know...That is if your own trumpeting is to be believed.
As I was saying: conspiracy theories. I've heard of most of the ones you list and have more than a passing familiarity with some of them, hence the reason I stated previously that the problem with conspiracy theories lie in their very nature due to the secretive matter they claim to deal with - real or imagined.
Also, I see someone was able to look at my profile. Well done, however I am not a subject of the Dutch queen. Nice try though.

To prove that point all you have to do is examine the constant state of motion of molecules which make-up the universe. I belive it was Einstien who discovered the atom when he floated pollen on top of water and observed it under a microscope. i could go onto how when heat is applied the atoms are energised but this is just a f.u from someone who worked on his moronic streak as it doesn't come as easy to me as to you obviously

you have spouted many impressive sounding terms, names and concepts out in your recent post; care to back up your claims of intimate familiarity with all of them? I did and you didnt like it so reject and ridicule was your order of the day as usual psml.
Sadly it is all but impossible to verify that you won't be going through various physical and/or online encyclopedias to find the answers, thus it is a display that will fail to prove your self-proclaimed brilliance. Go and find a quote where i proclaim my 'self proclaimed' brilliance. btw i havent needed source material or index to make you look ignorant. you do that all by yourself
Lol iheard Howard Marks say that nearly word for word lol I know paper academics parrot each other but in saying that you are saying experimental and theoretical science is a sham because all great knowns was guessed at first, some like Galilayo probably wished hed kep his mouth shut about the earth going round the sun. But then again according to your theory unless its already been proven he was a crackpot too and deserved to be locked up by the church. Id put money by your lack of being able to think outside the box youve never even attempted a phd thesis.
don't know about you, but personally I have good reason to expect many decades of life still. yeah maybe because you have the social communications of a 12yr old lol
You keep accusing me of the very things you are guilty of. Do you even fathom this or is that also convenient to block out of mind and sight? Yes you do seem to don't you. You stand accused of your ignorance and blatant disrespect to other people. Anyone still reading this and agrees say I
You've only recently become active with this profile, Moss, so I'll let your ignorance slide this time. ive been a member on this site longer than your ignorant spBOTTOM.
This started because of...
To prove that point all you have to do is examine the constant state of motion of molecules which make-up the universe. Now tell me, were you just born with a moronic streak or did you work hard to develop it? lol nearly fell out of my ivory tower on that one KDV but allow me to retort. The idea that ?all forms of matter are made up of tiny particles that are in constant motion? is true (for now). I belive it was Einstien who discovered the atom when he floated pollen on top of water and observed it under a microscope. i could go onto how when heat is applied the atoms are energised but this is just a f.u from someone who worked on his moronic streak as it doesn't come as easy to me as to you obviously
Delphic oracle pronounced Socrates to be the wisest Greek because Socrates modestly made the comment ?'Tis because I alone of all the Greeks know that I know nothing." Lol got a little book of quotes have we?psml. You may know how to view a profile yet clearly the same can not be said about using the quote functions. Don't you feel silly now for bragging about that? Again you prove every criticism I've directed against you, Moss. You make it so easy because you do all the work for me. Thank you!
If by "moronic streak" you are referring to natural intelligence and high education, then yes, apparently it doesn't come as easy to you as it does for me. That molecules are not the only form of building blocks in the universe does not come as news to me. Speaking of such things, which "ivory tower" are you in again? Last time I checked reputable institutions do not impose curfews from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Of course, this presumes that you aren't a maladjusted delinquent whom has engaged in rash acts of stupidity. If your claims of being under curfew are factual then it implies that you are not such an individual. Your mother must be so proud.
You have backed up nothing, but feel free to continue believing that you have if it helps you get out of bed in the morning. After all, your comments do not read at all like you've spent all night memorizing them. Nope, not at all! Oh, and I'm familiar with Rousseau. He is one of the most prominent figures in my chosen field after all. He is known for his work on "The Social Contract" amongst other things and he wasn't born French; he was born in Switzerland and died in France (he regained his Genevan citizenship later on in his life). If you liked Rousseau perhaps you might enjoy Immanuel Kant's "Perpetual Peace" (1795) upon which the modern "democractic peace theory" is based. Considering your political views, just how many tattoos do you have?
Now for the most entertaining, and perhaps not coincidentally most absurd, part of your post. One of the differences between experimental and theoretical science vs. conspiracy theories is that the former actually undergoes rigorous, quantifiable and verifiable processes by different parties in order to demonstrate their soundness. As Carl Hagan once exclaimed, the virtue of science is that it continually grows and develops, it continually examines and questions itself and when something that was previously held to be true has been demonstrated to be erroneous it is rectified. Very few other movements, if one will allow that description, attempt to do such and even fewer succeed at doing just that. If the conspiracy theories you so ardently cling to are the real deal then providing rock hard empirical evidence should be feasible. Perhaps we may have stumbled upon something for you to busy your hands with once your curfew expires. After all, idle hands do the devil's work, no?
Ah, and for the finale: communication skills critique. Coming from you that is laughable, yet I will take it under all the due consideration it deserves and summarily dismiss your ridiculous charge. But please do continue trying to rally the troops! It is classic psychological warfare for new beginners. The sign of a coward hoping that what his arguments lack in quality, sheer numbers can make up for. You don't have a leg to stand on, Moss and while your cheap imitation tactics might work on the usual crowd of suspects you hang with or whomever, you will find that you are going to have to do much, much better than that when facing me. Back to you.
Lol as usual attacks the best form of defence ay KVD. I know learning can be scary to you, especially about relatively unknown subjects but unless people try to understand things, like you they will stay in their safe little bubble fearing falling of the end of the earth untill its confirmed to them.
b.t.w. conspiracy ? noun(pl.conspiracies) A secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. {taken from Oxford English dictionary}
So by your logic(or should that be somebody elses logic you just happen to parrot) there are no secret organisations and 9/11 or 7/7 or any man made disaster never happened because no one conspires as YOU cant prove it! pretty shallow there are you not? Oh and if you look at the fbi most wanted poster for Bin Laden (last updated nov 2001) You will see they are not even after him for 9/11. I wonder why that could be??
BOHEMIAN GROVE IS NOT A CONSPIRACY!!! it's a very real place that has been well documented by main stream media since it was exposed. If you were to watch the documentary i told you about there is inside footage of the camp and full footage of the cremation of care. The bloke who voices for Mr Burns has been their and spoke out about it saying theres nothing sinister about the place and its just like a big frat party for super rich men. He even financed a film loosely based around it in the style of animal house called teddy bears picnic to try to make people see it as harmless. Now if you was to have seen the docu i was talking about(even if you see it as bubblegum for the mind) I could be able to validate your views on it and would be very interested to hear them, but you more than likely wont out of fear of seeing something you have no reasoning for.
The reason i brought up dulce was that its abit of fun(even though anyone who has claimed to have been inside and come out and spoke about it has ended up dead or vanished of the face of the earth) I just thought you might find it interesting. A bit like me recomending you read 1984 by George Orwell but instead of just reading a linear book you get to do abit of online detective work. Believe me the more you read the more outlandish it becomes and would make an excellent sci fi film. Better than even star wars, which just so happened to come out the same year as the dulce wars was supposed to happen. Now some people might say that Star wars was just a way of the goverments planting the idea in peoples heads to soften the blow if the dulce wars ever spilled out above ground. But in my opinion the dulce war papers was written BECAUSE of the star wars phenomena and was just a way of cashing in on the mood of the moment, just like the music industry dose with the 'hot sound' of the moment. So yes i do research these things. don't mean i think they are true unlike some who need a teacher to stand infront of them telling them what is true or false.
and yeah aint got a clue how the quote thing works tried it, messed it up and now everything ive said means nothing psml. that really is one of your finest hours
Lol i love the way i call u a parrot then you imitate me by calling me an imitator psml. As usual just parroting back to me what i said to you squark. And why dont you enlighten us with your "chosen vocation" i notice you never like to give anything away about yourself, not even country of origin. Which smacks of someone who dosnt like critisim at all. and judging by how hot under the coller you get we know why lol.. btw Higher education means jack.

Sure thing, Moss. After all you know nothing about attacking first, then firing off a quick verbal tap dance in the hopes that switching topics and avoiding sticking points where you were called on and revealed to be false will go unnoticed. Oh wait. That's exactly what you've done several times in at least one thread. Or have you already conveniently forgotten? You don't have to answer that - it might ruin your magic moment after all and we can't have that. Defence? Attack? Try to think of these sparring sessions of ours as a bemusing diversion for the time being.
As for the conspiracy theories, as already mentioned, I have read/watched a number of them in the past. Some were quite fascinating, some of them even seemed to at least hold some crumbs of fact and it certainly made for exciting reading. However, I am of the opinion that no matter how much a person might want to believe (or disbelieve,) a thing - be it this or other things - reliable evidence and sources must be presented. True, some potentially credible sources may end up being discredited through unfair, and perhaps untrue, smear campaigns which I consider unfortunate yet it does not alleviate the burden of proof from the one making a claim (I realise this may be a foreign, revolutionary and even scary notion to a hapless simian such as yourself, but that's how it works).
Are some of conspiracy theories accurate? That's the proverbial million dollar question, isn't it? I consider it a possibility, one out of several. You are guilty of engaging in circular logic and logical fallacy. Ergo, because something can't be proven completely wrong it is therefore right. Utter rubbish. While at least one 9/11 conspiracy documentary-look-alike ("9/11 Loose Change Second Addition) was initially highly persuasive - and I freely acknowledge there are still some aspects of it that raise questions I personally think have yet to be satisfactorily addressed by the official version of what happened - it also runs afoul of the ever present cloak and dagger shroud of mystery and secrecy which just about all conspiracy theories run afoul of. Because of that very secrecy those that adhere to these so-called theories have a hard time proving them. One of my personal favourites is the one where claims are made of commercial jets intentionally dumping chemicals in the atmosphere via "chemtrails" for unknown purposes that surely must be nefarious! Just how exactly did they get up there and manage to capture and then analyse those chemtrails before they dissipated? In order to do so they would have to have advance warning of when and where the planes doing this are flying, and they would have to be able to match their altitude and speed while also being in possession of the proper scientific equipment to measure these "chemtrails". You'll have to excuse me for remaining highly skeptical as to the conspiracy theorists whom support this particular story being able to muster the resources needed to undertake such a venture.
As for Bin Laden and the FBI, if you want to be taken seriously why don't you stop wondering and actually do something about proving it unequivocally? That is if whatever your mind has conjured up is in fact the reality on the matter. Hey, it could be. I'm willing to consider that possibility, but you are going to have to prove it and that means you need to get your facts nice, straight and lined up in a neat row. That goes for the Bohemian Grove story as well. Even if parts of it are true that's only part of the job done; as near to a comprehensive analysis of what is, and what isn't, factual would likely do much to at least gain some traction with a larger audience (then again, sometimes an audience will buy in to outrageous stories for a number of reasons, so this is by no means guaranteed). I'm willing to consider many conspiracy theories plausible, yet despite part of me wanting to believe some of those stories - indeed, precisely because that part of me may want to believe so strongly - a cool head and rational logic must be maintained. It has nothing to do with fear; fear comes and goes - there is no shame in being afraid though there may be shame in what you do, or fail to do, due to fear. "Funny" how courage often seems to come after you have already done the very thing that caused you to be scared to begin with.
One a more cordial note, to be fair I personally find the quoting system on this forum to be rather abysmal and very user unfriendly. Hopefully it is one of those things that will be improved upon in the ongoing efforts of CVG to design a new webpage layout with accompanying functions.
You and I keep doing this little tug-of-war and then there are brief moments of mutual interest and even, whatever-powers-that-may-be forbid it, a hint of civility. This is not to be mistaken as a sign of weakness when I type that I would actually be willing to discuss a number of topics with you in a less adversarial tone providing that tone is reciprocated. Of course you are free to continue your current ways as you see fit, yet it will only result in a matching retaliation on my behalf time and again.
P.S. If you like "1984" you might also enjoy "Fahrenheit 451" and "A Brave New World", presuming you haven't already read them. In retrospect I personally consider "A Brave New World" to be a bit overrated. It wasn't bad and I'm glad I read it; in some ways the tone..of madness I suppose is how I would describe it...reminds me of Conrad's "Heart of Darkness". I found Achebe's "Things Fall Apart" and J.D. Salinger's "Catcher In The Rye" more engaging.
