US Splinter Cell Conviction collector's edition detailed

In-game items, comic and a USB drive - UPDATE
Ubisoft's detailed the $79.99 Splinter Cell Conviction collector's edition set for release in the US.

UPDATE: Ubisoft's confirmed to CVG that this pack is US-only, and a seperate UK collector's edition will be detailed later.

The pack - which is oddly different to this one said to be hitting Australia - includes a Splinter Cell art book, decal stickers, comic and a pair of in-game items.

The collector's edition also includes a USB drive "loaded" with exclusive content, including concept art and storyboards.

We've left a message with Ubisoft regarding the Euro release. Here's the official blurb, via Kotaku:

"FIFTH FREEDOM: THE ART OF SPLINTER CELL" BOOK
  • Relive the best of Splinter Cell from past to present. This comprehensive hard-bound art book by Prima(TM) includes detailed art from the original Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, Double Agent, and Conviction, as well as in-depth commentary and notes from the developers.

    TWO EXCLUSIVE IN-GAME CONTENT ITEMS
  • Gain first access to the MP5-SD3, a lethal close-quarters submachine gun with an integrated suppressor.
  • Customize your multiplayer character with an exclusive 3rd Echelon outfit.

COLLECTIBLE DECALS - Available only in the Collector's Edition are two unique Xbox 360 decal stickers.
  • 3rd Echelon Logo Decal
  • Iconic Bullet Hole Decal

"DIGGING IN THE ASHES" COMIC BOOK
  • Watch the sequence of events preceding Splinter Cell Conviction unfold before your eyes in this one of a kind digital Splinter Cell comic book.

    STEELBOOK DVD CASE
  • Premium embossed metallic steel case packaging with iconic imagery.

Some of the stuff on this is cool, though I might preffer the other one depending on what the figurine ends up looking like. bBt personally I hate when developers up the cost of the CE/LE of games by adding a themed USB pen when chances are I can get a bigger/better one for cheaper.

Oh and they should stick to the traditional method of putting the bonus making of stuff onto a seperate DVD As it's cheaper and what's the point of putting it onto a USB pen you won't be able to use seen as it's already filled with stuff?

Well it does say that the collector's edition we'll be getting will be different from this one, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if we get the worst side of the stick as usual Sad

There's nothing there that'll draw me into buying the CE, unfortunately....Standard Edition it is, then.

Either way, I'm just glad we're going to be getting it finally. After playing Arkham Asylum, I've been itching to play a new Splinter Cell.
