EA's announced that the forthcoming multiplayer beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be exclusive to PS3.
Starting November 19, PS3 owners who've secured beta keys will be able to experience "all the action, destruction and vehicular warfare ahead of our full release in March 2010," EA says on the PlayStation Blog.

The beta will feature the large 'Arica Harbour' map where up to 24 players compete to secure valuable crates in the 'Rush' game, it says.
Getting access to the beta will apparently differ from country to country, but the two main ways you should look to get in are either through pre-ordering the full game or participating in giveaways on various gaming sites.
I can't wait for this game. More excited by this than any other on the horizon at the moment. I've already pre-ordered it for the Xbox, I'll have to go and do the same for the PS3 now if that's how I get into the BETA...
lucky you getting the MAG beta down, whenever i try, i get to 85% download and it just hangs, wont go on, i left it for an entire evening at 85% and it didnt move a muscle! and no background download?!? what were they thinking!

Happened to me as well. Take it that was with the last version, before the recent patch? If you abort the download the file should be there for you to install. Sadly you'll then have to download the recent patch which is even bigger. It will download fine, just remember they don't keep the beta going 24/7 though.
cool, not at all interested in MW2, but the first Bad Company was so damn funny hectic i just couldn't put it down.
Not sure i like the thought of the sequel being more serious though. It had the original had the perfect tone somewhere between stripes, full metal jacket, and three kings.
Off tangent, but demo related, the God Of War III demo was awesome. I really can't wait for that game now. Brutal!
Wasn't it just. Excellent demo if just a little rough round the edges in places. Then again it's almost a year old demo.
Does B.BC2 uses the same game engine as Battlefield 1943?
No 1943 used the Frostbite 1.5 engine, Bad Company 2 will use the Frostbite 2.0 engine. Buildings collapse, greater destruction, micro damage - it's as if it were evolving...
Check out some of the vids on youtube, it looks epic.

This is a real boost for PS3 owners. It's this kind of thing that I think the PS3 needs, exclusive content of quality titles. A beta, well that's a real bonus. I love beta's, the chance to get involved with a game as it is tweaked and finalised has massive appeal for me.
19th of November as well, so it'll have a clear run over the Xmas period, being that there are no other military style FPS's due around that time. Oh, wait a minute...
In all seriousness though, I loved the first Bad Company, and I love getting a chance to be involved in a beta, but the timing is a little lousy for me. I doubt I'll have enough time to play MW2 as much as I would like, let alone fit this in as well. All in all, massive boost for PS3 which is all good, but I trust Dice to deliver come March time so I'll wait until then.
I played the 360 version at Comic Con San Diego back in July. It was absolutely awesome, the graphics look improved and the classes seem to have been leveled a bit, so the medic can heal but cannot fix a tank, the demolition class now holds the spanner.
I got really into BF:BC but something about MW left me a little cold.
Don’t get me wrong...I amassed hours of play on MW and was a couple times into the prestige mode. However, I just got bored of it in a weird way that never happened with Halo and certainly not with GRAW.
I think the size of the levels on BC helps, although that said I am getting a little bit bored of BF 1943. My rank was Major Gold (not sure if that’s good) last time I checked so possibly I’m getting a little tired of the three maps...
As a Battlefield game the multiplayer will be awesome, a COD beater. But the singleplayer was pretty weak in the first one. It was just like a large multiplayer map but with you and 3 invincible bots against a load of other bots, it didn't feel like a proper singleplayer at all.
I played the demo of the orginal and didn't really like it, but then came 1943 and I was completely obsessed. Just seen the latest video from PS Store and this game just looks mental. They've got the SFX down to a tee.
I'm glad this isn't out till March cos it gives me plenty of time to play MW2.
The title of this article is somewhat misleading, as the PS3 exclusivity lasts only a month.
"In December 2009, DICE will invite players to participate in a PC open beta. Then, early next year, all players worldwide will get to experience this premier shooter when DICE releases a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer DEMO on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, PlayStation 3 and PC."
Awesome stuff. Cannot wait to see about signing up for the PC version hopefully with massiv player battles like in previous battlefield games.
Some mentioned at the start of this post about this vs MW2 and to be quite frank I would rather play this considering the destructability etc. Well that and support for dedicated servers
