Zelda Wii might miss 2010

"We haven't committed to Zelda for 2010," says NOA boss
The next Legend of Zelda game for Wii might not make it to the shops in 2010, Nintendo of America boss, Reggie Fils-Aime has warned.

"We haven't committed to Zelda for 2010... so we'll see how that continues to develop," Fils-Aime told GameTrailers TV.

Whether it makes it or not though, Fils-Aime is still very excited about Nintendo's prospects for 2010: "In terms of the three we highlighted during E3, Sin and Punishment 2 is going to be something that the Nintendo fan can get really excited about," he said.

"Galaxy 2... what can you say? Mr. Miyamoto himself is very excited about it. He thinks that it adds even more to that great title. And then Other M... that is another franchise that I've personally got great memories of, back to a side-scrolling Metroid title."

Thanks, Official Nintendo Mag.

Not a big surprise if Zelda isn't out next year, considering nothing has been shown of the game yet. They'll probably show it at E3, and a late 2010 release has always seemed as the earliest we could hope for.

Ahhh F*ck!

I just want this so bad...

2011 is too long for my poor old black Wii which will now collect enought dust to compete agaisnt my white one...

Regardless of Sin & Punishment 2 being a core game, I doubt it's going to sell very well for them, and in my opinion it's more of a curio than a proper AAA Nintendo title.

Nintendo are still pulling a good fair share of weight in the 2010 Wii software department, even without Zelda. Let's hope 3rd parties decide to do the same

To be honest I'm looking forward to spirit Tracks far more than this, twilight princess played to much like a remake of older zelda's for my taste so nintendo are going to have to do something amazing to get me interested.

As for 2010 releases go I'm more then satisfied by what's coming out, sin & punishment2, metroid other m, galaxy 2, golden sun ds and several more.

For such a precious franchise, surely it's a case of "it's ready when it's ready!".

For me, Zelda is probably the one franchise that transcends all others (including Mario and Metroid) in terms of pure gameplay and enjoyment, so take your time guys, I'm sure it'll be worth it!

I'm sorta glad that it's being pushed back. I want time to play Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M and Final Fantasy XIII
Ayjay100 on 6 Nov '09
Didn't expect it next year at all. C'mon, it's Zelda, we haven't even seen a trailer yet and it's using MotionPlus.... s'gonna take longer than 18 months from E3.

Nintendo do tend to take their time with the Big games, but its always worth the wait. Ultimately its not just a very good game you wait for but almost always one that is solidly built and bug free (except for the odd minor glitch, but nothing that effects game play). Its a Shame others couldn't follow that ideal (yes Lionhead i'm looking in your direction Rolling Eyes )

Apparently it comes out on wii 2 so if it delays enough thats definitely possible.

Regardless of Sin & Punishment 2 being a core game, I doubt it's going to sell very well for them, and in my opinion it's more of a curio than a proper AAA Nintendo title.

Why are you worrying about sales? All that matters for you and the rest of us is there is a new quality game out there to play. If people did less complaining, and more playing the world would be a better place.

I was really looking forward to this... Crying or Very sad

Sprit Tracks will more than do for now and there are tons of other games I want until Zelda Wii. I can wait as I know Nintendo will give the goods with it.

Sin and Punishment 2 is a cracking game. First decent arcade shooter i've played in a long while, sort of reminds me of phantasy star online in a really weird way.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 9 Nov '09
It should be out this year ffs it should have been in development for 3 years already.

Nintendo appears to be run by a bunch of idiots in my opinion.

I will never by a Nintendo console again.
Nomad0404 on 9 Nov '09
your loss not thiers.

Zelda games have always had a long development time and been better off for it. Whenever the new zelda drops you know its going to be a cracking game.

Just have a little patience.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 9 Nov '09
I don't see any problem with having to wait. It will be worth it in the end. It's always worth it in the end. And in my opinion, Nintendo is run by a bunch of geniuses.
kimoak on 9 Nov '09
i couldn't agree more. No one knows the industry better than Nintendo. When you have the grand father of modern gaming on your payroll you are bound to have an endless stream of classics.
WHERESMYMONKEY on 9 Nov '09
i said a few weeks back on another board that i'm expecting zelda to slip and not turn up until the wii hd's launch.

this news makes me think that's a distinct possibility now.

i don't mind the wait as long as it's better than twilight princess.

anyway tatsunoko vs capcom, sin and punishment 2,silent hill, metroid other: m,galaxy 2 and red steel 2 will keep me entertained for a bit yet and when the fatal frame/project zero fan translation is complete i'll finally have that too: http://zero4.higashinoeden.com/

i just wish sega would do a new panzer dragoon for the wii.....
