Borderlands 'Zombie Island' DLC dated

Xbox and PS3 versions later this month, PC gamers left in the dark
The first downloadable expansion for Borderlands, titled 'The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned', will arrive on PS3 and 360 on November 24, Gearbox has confirmed.

In what it's calling "the first in a series" of add-ons, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned adds new loot, quests... and zombies.

"Tasked with keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, Dr. Ned (who is not related to Dr. Zed from Fyrestone) does his job a little too well, creating zombies and other abominations that now run rampant in this region," says Gearbox.

"Players will have to work alongside Dr. Ned as they embark on a quest to cure the inhabitants of Jakobs Cove in this full-fledged expansion filled with new enemies, new quests and rare loot drops."

Gearbox says the PC version has "no date right now", but assures fans it's on its way.

The pack'll cost 800 MS Points on 360 (around £6.80) and $9.99 (£6) on PSN.

Is there no imagination left in the game developers canteen. Zombies how original, like that's fresh and new. Done to death if you'll pardon the pun.

Love Borderlands. If you haven't played it, do. If you don't think it'll be your sort of thing, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

But I am sick to death of zombies.

pfft. There's nothing new under the sun. More borderlands i always welcomed too. Still have tons to do in the main game though. Currently fighting my way through rust commons.

Hopefully they up the level cap and include some more skills. Since I've maxed out my characters I'm a little bored of the game Sad

BUT it is a GREAT game. Don't let me sway your purchasing decisions by belittling the end game.

Another developer ignoring the PC...

And on this DLC, lets hope that they dont end it with some f**king retarded plot hole. If anyone has finished the game you will know what i am talking about.

Vote with our wallets? I'm not buying the game because I don't want it. Dedicated servers are everything on the PC and if it doesn't have those then I don't want it. Vote with my wallet? this isn't a general election, its a f**king video game.

Developers are the biggest crybabies here, they seem to think we all pirate their games, but I sit here as a pc gamer with their boxes all around me. I have never ever stolen a game and I never will, so why am I paying the price with these subtle back-stabbings? Its absolutely pathetic, Valve have got around the problem, why cant the rest of them?

Love Borderlands. If you haven't played it, do. If you don't think it'll be your sort of thing, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

But I am sick to death of zombies.

I tried. I found a particularly attractive one-day-only special discount at a local game store. Bought the game. Brought it home. Installed. Started the game and everything looked good until 5-12 minutes in to the game at which point the screen would freeze. This happened more than once and upon looking it up online I discovered numerous other PC gamers were experiencing the same problem. Since there was a 1 day return policy on opened games at that store where I purchased the game, I returned it the next day and ended up using my store credit on the CE of "Dragon Age: Origins". I couldn't be happier with my decision.

With no official word from Gearbox regarding a major patch (an announcement may have been made in the past few days - I haven't followed up on it as it is no longer relevant to me,) for the PC version, I advice others to steer well clear of the PC version of "Borderlands" for at least 3 to 6 months in the hopes that a patch will have fixed this and other problems. Poor showing by Gearbox, poor showing indeed. To their credit though, they appear to have kept SecuROM on the disc without installing on to my hard drive.

Can't speak for the PC, but the 360 version runs fine, with only the occasional juddering when you have a lot of baddies about. Still, I sympathise: you are missing out on a corker.

I couldn't join a lot of servers online (PC) becasue of the ports. I manage to find a tutorial online on how to open my ports and it worked! Anyone was able to join my game. The problem I find is that players are just total loot whores. they just pick up the rare weapons without giving a others a chance to check out the loot.
Ghostface_K on 11 Nov '09
Loot Whore! Ha, that's brilliant! To be fair the world hasn't seen loot whoring on this scale since the height of Diablo 2. I remember stealing the rare items after killing Diablo and my mate falling out with me because he was 5 minutes behind and got nothing! Ha ha!
Killermancarro on 11 Nov '09
What plot hole? There's no plothole that I know of... (although I do read the forums over at Gamespot too and people have discussed the ending to death).

How about fixing the broken pc multiplayer first?
