I highly, highly doubt that it'll ever appear on the PS3. I just think we'd have heard more about about it by now and there's been nothing.
I'd love to know what's next for GTA though. We got the teaser in the Liberty City Stories manual that hints at the next chapter - obviously, it won't be set in LC, so we have to wonder which city they'll use.
I think it could very well be Vice City - mostly because of the extra radio station on the disc....also, VC seems to be the most popular GTA chapter, so it makes sense.

The disc release is called Episodes From Liberty City (EFLC) & yes, VC is most likely to be next (fingers crossed), it's their pattern. GTA1 had three islands. Liberty City, Vice City & San Andreas. Apart from the GTA London expansion pack & the nameless city from GTA2, this has always been their pattern.

Well, R* don't like to bring things back exactly the same way as before, so yes, that probably rules Tommy out & the 80's setting. I'd like to see them choose the 70's. They've done the 80's, 90's, present day & "three weeks in the future" & the 70's would fit VC pretty well I think.
Looking at what they've done with GTA IV though (it existing in it's own universe & has no relation to any of the older games or characters), there's a chance it may be set in present day again. After playing Gay Tony & watching the end credits, Packie could even be the protagonist.
Right, well the first link is basically some spiel about PS3 owners emailing R* in order to get some DLC and states nothing concrete at all....I think we can take that with a pinch of salt.
The second link also contradicts the hints within the manual from R* themselves. There won't be any more Liberty City stuff, supposedly. It's altogether possible that this could mean for the next game (Vice City?), which I fully expect will be multiplatform - I can't see either MS or Sony getting any exclusives this time round.
Rockstar have spoken out recently to a question about PS3 DLC and they said they couldn't comment yet, but rest assured, they aren't done with GTA 4 yet. So, I'm not giving up just yet, I'll see what they do next, I'm assuming they'll release some sort of multi-plat DLC, then all the 360 fanboys will start crying that it should have been just theirs and then MS'll try and buy Rockstar completely, like the c**ts they are!

Isn't there also a page in the manual for Liberty City......erm, Episodes from Liberty City that states that it won't be used as a backdrop?
I'm sure it says something like 'It's Over', or something along those lines.

Firstly about the exclusivity of the game and again attacking a member about their choice of console / financial situation.
