Zelda mastermind Eiji Aonuma has told our colleagues over at Official Nintendo Magazine, that some of the internet speculation surrounding the Zelda Wii artwork released at E3 was spot on - but the Zelda overlord wouldn't confirm which bits the net had got right.
Who is that mystery character standing in front of Link? Well, speaking in ONM in an exclusive interview, Aonuma confirmed that internet land has already worked out what the real deal was, but that he'd also been muzzled from saying any more. "You will have to wait until next year when we can elaborate on this and many other things," said Aonuma. "But what I can tell you is that yes I have read some of the speculation, and some of it is right! That is all I can say at the moment."
Aonuma also said to expect further surprises from the full Zelda Wii reveal at E3 next year and you'll be able to read the full, in-depth interview with him in Official Nintendo Magazine issue 51, which hits the streets on December 18th.
In the meantime you can start your own assault on the Zelda Wii truth with some rampant speculation in the comments field below.
Well the most logical theory I've heard is that she becomes the Master Sword spirit and basically inhabits it, I also think she might forge the sword rather then become it.
Whatever way you look at it it seems extremely likely that this games story will be about the origins of the Master sword.
Tis' believed that she is (connected to?) the Master Sword and that this game will be 1st person, like was originally planned with Ocarina of Time. The reason they didn't then is because they wanted to show the transformation of Link into adulthood. This game MAY be being developed with Retro Studios.
Tis' believed ... that this game will be 1st person
I find that hard to believe. If Zelda fans didn't like the Wind Waker being set at sea, I can't imagine them being too happy if the next one were first person. I know I wouldn't. First person shooters are one thing, but I don't like first person adventure games (e.g. Mirror's Edge).
I thought the character looked like one of those aquatic people, but that's just me.
i agree with Athrun888 it prob will be about the origins of the master sword. I would very much like to play thru that story. However, rather than it being her that forges the sword or becomes the sword. I think she is the manifestation of the power the sword contains (that which repels evil and all that jazz)
If not Castlevania as well; one game in the series went through the founding of the endless storyline, and involved somebody's soul becoming part of a weapon...
