Nintendo DSi XL launches in Japan

And not just old people queue
This weekend the super-sized handheld, the Nintendo DSi XL (or 'LL' in the Far East) launched in Japan, much to the delight of the country's elderly gamers.

UPDATE: We've got ours. Check out our Nintendo DSi XL comparison shots.

Original Story: Famitsu reports that approximately a hundred customers queued outside Akihabara's Yodobashi Camera for the launch of the handheld, while down the road at Bic Camera a further 60 customers formed a line.

Surprisingly, not all of the queue-formers were over 60; a high number of 20 and 30-year-olds turned up for the device, reports Famitsu, including business women, couples, parents with children and yes - one elderly lady (pictured, for your pleasure).

The DSi XL is due to launch in Europe in Q1 2010.and sports larger 4.2 inch screens, greater battery life and a second pen-like stylus. It really is quite massive.

Ours is due in the post sometime this week, so check back for sexy photos soon.

Its good to see that the Japanese still love to form big queues for every Hardware launch still, no matter whether its New or a redeisgn machine. Some things never change Wink
