Mass Effect 2 "surprise" this week

BioWare promises reveal on official website
BioWare's promised a "surprise" Mass Effect 2 announcement this week.

Writing on its Facebook page, the developer's Chris Priestly said: "Man, so much time tied up today in meetings and "secret stuff" I didn't get any time with ME2 at all. =( Still with the coming surprise for next week on the ME2 website, I'm sure fans will forgive me for no update.

"Did I, Evil Chris Priestly, just drop a hint? Yes. Yes I did," the post concludes.

What could it be? A new trailer? Secret multiplayer mode? Sheppard's actually, really, probably dead this time? We'll let you know when it happens.

Mass Effect 2's out on January 29 in Europe with a Collectors' Edition.

A pre-Christmas release date would be lovely. If unlikely...

Although ME2 is in my top 3 titles for next year I dont hold out too much hope for a major suprise this week, though it would be nice to proven wrong Very Happy .

It will be the proper standard edition box art!

It wouldn't surprise me if it was an online multiplayer mode. Every game seems to have it these days.

I sincerely hope not. Bioware has put so much effort into the single player story that I'd hate to see their efforts dampened by a tacked on deathmatch mode. If it's co-op, you'd have 12 year old texans telling you to skip half the dialogue so they can get back to headshotting aliens.

Let it be a nice surprise Bioware... unlockable lightsabers? A man can dream.

I'll be disappointed if it is an online multiplayer mode. Bioware should instead put all there time and resources into creating the best story ever.

If they do include a multiplayer option, I can't see who would play it. Surely those who are seeking their online thrills will be kept entertained by the likes of MW2.
