A third game in the Uncharted series is "assured" to happen, Nathan Drake himself, voice actor Nolan North has said.
Speaking to Official PlayStation magazine, North said: "Well I know we're going to be assured a third one. That would just be financially irresponsible, not to do a third one." Excellent.

As previously reported, North also told the chaps at OPM he'd like to play Nathan Drake himself in the upcoming film, but sees Hugh Jackman as a more likely fit.
"Somebody like [Hugh] Jackman is the guy I would like to see. I think the producers really would like to see Jackman, because he has that tough guy exterior but there's a lot going on behind his eyes," said North.
Awesome news! U2:AT was amazing, a real trailblazer for the PS3. As long as they don't drag it out and rape it for like a decade (Tomb Raider I'm looking at you) then I'm quite happy to see a few sequels to the Uncharted series.
As for Hugh Jackman, f**k that. No one wants they grunting ponce to play Drake! Nathan Fillion should do it, end of!
Well duh. Naughty Dog have already said themselves that this is a franchaise they could easily get 10 or more games from since each game's plot is seperate, and naturally there's so many possible plots you can have with all the legends out there. I just hope they take their time though. Uncharted 2 is the best game I've played this gen, and would take alot to top. Perhaps even take another generation of consoles to be possible? I do agree though, I would love another Jak and Daxter. Sod the stupid Rachet and Clank nonsense, and let's get the proper PlayStation platform franchaise back up and running!
Hugh Jackman would be absolutely perfect for the role of Nathan Drake. Wolverine and Drake share a lot of characteristics (c**kyness, charm, not afraid of a scrap).
I would rather see a Jak & Daxter epic on the PS3 before Uncharted 3, though........as good as Uncharted is, it'll never top J & D.
The guy who played Shepherd in Stargate Atlantis would be perfect for the role if you ask me.
Yes, he's absolutely made for it. I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned him. Really, I can't think of anybody better suited.
And Hugh Jackman is way too old. Plus, he's too buff at this stage, although I suppose he could slim down. Much as I like Nathan Fillion, he definitely doesn't have the look for the role.
Despite all this, they'll probably cast a big name simply to get the money in. Shame.
omg if figured it out. what happend with the ith guy before drake figured out that the eye was in the freaky three headed elephant and im guessing he tried to steal it to
