If nothing else, Blood Wake looks really fantastic, with jaw-dropping wave effects so real you can almost feel your stomach lurch and churn as the boat rises and falls.

Other than the eye candy it's a very run-of-the-mill arcade shooter. Blowing up enemy ships is quite rewarding and cresting off rocks at full throttle is surprisingly fun, but Blood Wake relies on good looks over gameplay to grab your attention, and that breaks one of the first rules of gaming.
