23-Jun-2002 My, what a very big gun you've got! My, what a very big gun you've got!
If a flash sports car is considered a penis extension, get ready to feel like you've got a Godzilla-sized chubby, because in Gun Metal you get to control a 200ft-tall mech warrior with enough brute power to level an entire city in under a minute. And what's more, your robot can transform into a jet too, Transformer-style. Eat it!
Within each of the 25 missions in Gun Metal, you're faced with a number of simple objectives, such as protecting convoys and defending human bases, which basically always boils down to blasting the utter crap out of anything that moves.
SERVE AND PROTECT However, although Gun Metal feels non-stop and intense, the lack of tactics or strategy means the action becomes quite repetitive. Furthermore, although the visuals are crisp and slick, there isn't a great sense of atmosphere, as a result of the reasonably flat, sparse landscapes that make up each level.
Nonetheless, as a mindless balls-out blaster, this is sure to send your testosterone levels off the chart.

Verdict
Furious blasting action, but lacks depth and visual clout.
