Dead Ball Zone Review

Speedball 3? Actually better
The game that ISNiT speedball 3, is a mix of handball, football, wrestling, boxing, and more. The game is quite US orientated with each match is divided into four quarters and thereis things like time outs in there as well. But the bad news ends there. This plays pretty much like soccer with the new added ingredient of violent death, and that can be no bad thing...

Weive seen the iBlood ON/OFFi option plenty of times before. But Dead Ball Zone goes one better by having a iPuke ON/OFFi option as well. You know how they say blokes sweat and girls perspire? Well when DBZis players get tired, they donit do either. They start puking big streams of yellowish sick. Now thatis entertainment!

Grab the ball unwisely and youill be on the receiving end of the kind of blow thatill have your dentures gnashing at the wrong end of your digestive system. And if that donit hurt eem bad enough, check out the special moves to cripple the opposing players extra fast.

But it wouldnit be any kind of sport at all if there was nothing to do but jump on each other and smack people in the face. Thatis why you get to tool up a couple of players in your team with some useful bits of sporting kit: chainsaws, rocket launchers and anti-personnel mines. Very useful when the opposition are already limping after a hard-fought match...

If you manage to stop twatting people and running after them with chainsaws for a second, youill find thereis a tasty passing game in there too. With walls bouncing back off of the walls like nobodyis business, and you able to put positively evil curve on the ball, things will rocket back ni forth. Until someone puts a bullet in the guy with the ball, of course...

Weive been waiting a damn long time for a super-violent isporti sim to make itis appearance on the PlayStation. Thereis just too little of that sweet music of spinal cords snapping in your average ireali sport sim. Not so here. Are you ready to spill some blood?

Verdict
Vinnie Jones should put himself into suspended animation now. You see, in the dark future, footieis been replaced by a mindless free-for-all where grievous assault and murderis all part of the game. Just the way our Vin likes it... If you want blood... you got it! This plays fast and furious, and the violence feels like it really hurts. Cool. And, letis face it, any sport involving chainsaws has to be a winner.
