Fuse yourself with five tonnes of airborne military hardware for this helicopter shooter. A total of 18 missions stand between you and victory as you fight against the United Eastern States terrorist army using a mixture of major firepower and stealth manoeuvres.

Fire Blade is all about arcade-style action, so anyone expecting some serious flight sim mechanics will be rather disappointed.

The gloom won't last long, though, as the pick-up-and-play nature of the missions means you'll be gleefully destroying hostiles in no time at all. You can even enter stealth mode to fly around undetected and snipe enemy soldiers' limbs off. They deserve it.

The Xbox version is essentially the same as last year's PlayStation 2 game, and while it looks okay, it's still a long way from recreating the on-screen visual destruction of games such as Mech Assault. All in all, this isn't a bad chopper game, but could have been better.
