Super Monkey Ball Jr Review

This Game Boy Advance version of the much-loved cult classic is everything anyone could ever hope for from a mini-me Monkey Ball game. Pretty much everything from the GameCube version has been ported across - right down to the multiplayer games and intensely frustrating 'Expert' levels. Ngh!

MONKEY MAGIC
For those who missed the monkey magic on Cube, Super Monkey Ball is a puzzle game where you guide a monkey in a ball across hazardous stages to reach the goal. The twist is that you control the playing area - tilting and turning it - rather than the monkey itself.

The GBA version copes well with the 3D graphics but is let down slightly by the lack of analog control. Some effort has been made to fix this by letting you fine-tune your tilt with the A and B buttons, but it's still just too tough for many of the singleplayer stages. Multiplay, on the other hand, is a hoot and is where you'll find the most fun.
