Dredd locks 'n loads

Mega City One's Judge Dredd is busting perp ass today in new screenshots from Dredd vs. Death. In development at Rebellion, which brought us FPS Aliens vs. Predator among other titles, the first-person shooter is based on the long-running Judge Dredd comic strip featured in sci-fi comic 2000AD.

Players will get to fill the crime-stomping boots of Dredd, employ Lawgiver pistol (and no doubt plenty of other weapons) to good effect and ultimately attempt to thwart the plans of age-old enemy Judge Death.

Dredd vs. Death is looking quite impressive, Rebellion seemingly doing an excellent job of recreating the bustling, sprawling metropolis that is Mega City One and of keeping the essence of the Judge Dredd comic strip intact for its videogame. Well, to be honest, that's not really surprising seeing as the developer owns the 2000AD comic.

As owner of 2000AD, Rebellion has a wealth of material to draw from, but little has been mentioned about future games based on other strips from the comic. The developer has informed us in the past that it's been playing around with the idea of a Rogue Trooper third-person action title, but so far no official announcement has been made.
