Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction shows new screens

After a couple of pretty decent PC first-person shooters from the Aliens vs. Predator license, next up is a tactical strategy game for Xbox and PS2. The game in question is Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction from developer Zono Inc., a title which allows players to take command of one of the three "forces" represented - Alien, Predator and Colonial Marine - and engage in combat. In a strategy manner.

AvP: Extinction is mission-based, the three involved species battling in numerous environments (jungles and caverns, for example) for dominance of planet LV-742. Each of the species in the game comes with its own unique set of attributes, which supposedly adds strategic and tactical variety to the title, and each force also benefits from upgrades to equipment and weaponry as play progresses, something that's pretty much a standard for a game of this type.

Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction will be published by EA and is due out on Xbox and PS2 on August 8.
