Charlie's Angels Review

Top totty in dull game shocker

We have been ruined by Enter The Matrix. Now we expect all film tie-ins to be just as dynamic and exciting. So when something like Charlie's Angels comes along and we slump into despair, weeping softly.

Despite being released to coincide with summer blockbuster sequel Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, the first ever Angels game has a completely separate plot. In the game, Charlie's athletic darlings are trying to find out who's stolen the Statue of Liberty.

Shake Your Moneymaker
The impressive CGI cutscenes feature all the usual smutty Angels banter that made the first film so cool, but sadly the actual gameplay itself is mediocre. Your only task is to repeatedly punch and kick your way around six locations that include snowy Alaska and sunny Mexico.

Your path through the levels is fixed and you have no opportunity to explore the environments. The combat engine is very basic and you'll soon get bored with trashing endless baddies, despite the foxy babes.

Verdict
What a missed opportunity: here we have a kick-ass film, featuring three great-looking, sassy chicks and zippy storyline, but it's spawned a lacklustre videogame.
