The Great Escape on the scene

Thank God for The Great Escape; if it weren't for this classic slice of Hollywood cinema assaulting our TV screens once a year, you might actually have to speak to your manky old relatives at Christmas.

SCi bagged the rights to make a game based on the cult movie and the PC version hits European shelves tomorrow. In The Great Escape, you take control of four of the film's stars - Hilts, Macdonald, Sedgewick and Hendley - each with their own unique skills, all vital to achieving the ultimate goal: escape.

Combining stealth, with explosive action, vehicle chases (including the classic motorbike chase - ooooh yes) and more, the game expands on the film showing events leading up to the cast's incarceration and eventual emancipation.

Out in Europe tomorrow, check out these cool in-game cutscene shots from The Great Escape, and soak up all that glorious nostalgia.
