Blasting action - we just can't get enough of it. Whether it's bringing down the amassed forces of the Covenant in Halo, inflicting Elvis-assisted justice to a bunch of inter-planetary roughnecks in Perfect Dark, or else just mindlessly gunning down ne'er-do-wells in Doom, if it's got guns, we want in.

Which is why we're cock-a-hoop about Crytek's new blastathon Far Cry. Featuring staunchly grizzled tough guy Jack Carver in the lead role, you'll control Jack as he shoots hulking, brutish bad guys, bludgeons mercenaries, and expresses exasperation at having to travel by the perilous form of transport known as hang-gliding.

Far Cry is to be published by Ubi Soft and should be appearing on PC on November 28. 'Til then, these new screens should whet your appetite...
