Guns for Game Boys!

Unbelievable! Online news publication Miami Herald is running one of the most bizarre stories we've ever read - it almost beats the mum who locked her kid in the washing machine after being sent bonkers by a bleeping GBA.

Oddly, it's Game Boy at the centre of the Miami Herald story, the publication reporting that two US schoolboys, aged 12 and 13, have swapped Nintendo's handheld for a gun.

The swap was apparently performed on Monday this week in a school lavatory - classy. However, possible impending disaster was averted when the following day teachers discovered the exchange had taken place.

Both boys nicked, when police were called in the lads reportedly claimed that they had found the gun lying behind the school.

School principle Karen Smiley clearly found the whole affair troubling. "It's kind of disheartening," she said. "It was like they never understood the seriousness of the action."

Recommendations have now been put forward by school officials that the boys should not be allowed back to the school. Requests that both be expelled for a year are also likely to be put foward.
