Why don't you call my name?
Sorry, I think Ross has been playing some of his classic hits in the office this last week. But can you blame him? After all, the Genesis of this month's mag must have utilized a musical interlude. If you ask why, I would say "Just 'Cause". Which leads me horribly into the fact that in this month's issue, you can find a First Look at Just Cause 2 (no word on the Nazi Gyrocopters as yet mind) and Command & Conquer Tiberium in this month's issue. Along with this, previews of three Warhammer games, Brothers in Arms Hells Highway and Project Origin can be found within this month's issue.
Adventure admirers can enjoy an interview with Funcom's Ragnar Tornquist - the man behind The Longest Journey and continuing with the Genesis references, is there Something In The Air Tonight? It might be your PC - as Alec investigates how green is your PC? Reviews of Universe At War: Earth Assault, Juiced, Soldier of Fourtune Payback and Speedball 2 Tournament can all be discovered. And futher on a Long Play of Kingpin, Portal map creation tips and a look at the many deaths of Lord British can also be found in this issue.
Tom dips his feet in a Spoiler packed return to Rapture in the eight page feature, and Adam Oxford takes a look at Monitors in this month's Hardware sections. And finally, if you're having disc problems I feel bad for you son. Grahams got 199 games on this month's disc but a Lula 3D ain't one. While I go stone myself for the horrible, horrible Jay Z ending to this month's thread, you go enjoy the magazine. _________________ DoubleYouTeeEff.com - The Bloggings of The_B

I can't believe I'm the first to say I have the issue?! I live in friggin Norway!
Anyway.
The decline of the good singleplayer RPGs has made it hard for me to find much interesting stuff in PC Gamer the last few years, so I think there will be a fond and sad farewell very soon ... like, when my subscription runs out.
BUT
ROSS CLAIMS BALDUR'S GATE III IS NO LONGER A RUMOR, BUT THE TRUTH?!
Maybe there is hope for gamers like me..
EDIT:
I can't believe you snuck that post in before mine! |

Load of old toot reviewed in this issue... 'tis the season for average games though, I suppose.
Might give the demo of that indie strategy one a go, though... |

I guess I could resubscribe to this, as my current sub is running out. I tried to subscribe to The Economist, but its online subscription can't handle the fact that my postal address is different from my debit card address, which is very annoying. Anyway. I may flick through this issue at some point and comment.

Nah, but I enjoy doing them anyway. Mainly as they usually give me something to do when I really should be doing more important Uni work... *Ahem*
I'm not as keen on my post this month personally incidentally, it just doesn't seem as good as my previous ones and I know I probably could have done better. But hey. _________________ DoubleYouTeeEff.com - The Bloggings of The_B

It was an enjoyable little preview. Not sure how it compares to previous ones you've done. |

I'm dissapointed in the interview with Ragnar Tornquist.
It was interesting but it didn't ask him the question so many people wanted to ask: why was Dreamfall so rediculously easy to a point where it was story with an adventure game tagged on? And will the sequel be harder? |

Aircool to buy games shocker!
I've been waiting for Aquaria for a while now and I'm glad the review gave it the thumbs up. Also, Armageddon Empires is just the sort of game that you can only get on the PC.
Ironic but not expected (by me at least). I've always said that DX10 isn't the future and Indie gaming will slowly come to the fore...
I've just got to wait for my pension to arrive in the bank, and I'll be getting these two great games asap
It's all about the gameplay man, the gameplay.... |

Well this blows. I have the best idea for this months competition, but the PC they are offering isnt as good as the one I've just built, even if it does come in an Alienware case!
I might enter anyway, but don't worry - if I won, which is highly unlikely, I would never sell it. I might give it to a friend in need, though. _________________ Xfire: joabo

Could you try making them... useful? I didn't get this month's issue and wanted to see what reviews w/ scores, previews, features and so on were in it at a glance. Instead I have to read through all that. You could stick a bit on the end of the post with the scores in spoiler boxes, a list of the basic features of the issue, things like that. |

I try putting the main ones in. But CVG does most of the rest of the work.
(On a more serious note, I do try and mention every non regular main feature) _________________ DoubleYouTeeEff.com - The Bloggings of The_B

What I'm saying is that I have to read through several paragraphs to find them, and none of the reviews have scores given. The Preys World equivalent to this thread was more helpful in this respect. |

SoF: Payback is a bad game, but more a 50% game than a 20% game. I think the reviewer focused too much on how bad it is, rather than how hilariously bad it is. |

No, he did go on about how hilariousely bad it is. infact, im sure he said that it was its only redeeming feature.
On another note. You called this issue the Warhammer special. So why was there only 2 pages of the new DoW? i was so looking forward to reading page after page about the sexy nuns and S&M pointy eared dark eldar. I wanted to hear about the varity of new units, skills and special abilities. Did we even get a screen shot of the Dark Eldars super unit? i dont think so =( _________________ Impossible is a big word thrown around by small men, that find it easier to live in a world they are given, than explore the power they have to change it!

Anyone elses menus on the second side of the disc muddled up? Duplicated names, screenshots - but the install links and descriptions do seem to match up. Shame, but not a huge issue!
And the bloody postman folded it up to get it through the letterbox. My cover is all creased! Bastard.
I've been looking forward to this coming though, I've not had much to read at breakfast since the last issue. ¬_¬
Also, are some games meant to appear more than once (Golf? is the only one that raises an eyebrow. I can't argue with five entries for N, as it really is one of the best games ever.) _________________ Don't panic...

Only bits of it as they trickle onto here. Some things you will never see, like This Is Hardcore, and Extra-Life, and most of the Tech Folder, and a lot of the News, and Cables, and the Competition, and Uncensored... must I go on? _________________ Xfire: joabo

Am i being incredibly unobservant, or is there no strafe left this issue? The oddball section was shunted down from its usual position by a bloody advert, leaving no room for it
I shall expect two next issue! |
