Hyped soooo much....Although I understand the low score. If that crappy camera is still the same....its definately not AAA material. Plus the average visuals (still looks pretty) and a lack of innovation + impossible difficulty is a definate pass for me.

what did you expect? a completely different game?
of course there wasn't going to be any new radical changes. if it ain't broke etc etc.
i've had this ordered for about 4 weeks now and cannot wait for it to come through my door. even if i still haven't finished the first one. the only unfortunate thing about this game is the fact that MGS4 comes out the week after and anyone with both systems like myself will be torn between (hopefully) 2 execellent games. plus we'll also have to find time to finish GTA4

still got a better score than haze though, didn't it?
I don't think 8.0 is necessarily a flop. Assassin's Creed didn't flop and that got lower/the same scores. I can't wait for this game personally. |

Well Haze is just horrible...NO ONE can deny that. and 8 is a flop....after MS Fanboys claiming that June belongs to NGII and that it will be AAA.
It didnt live up to expectations...overhyped. GTA IV will still do me for another year anyway. And to ensabahnur - No, i didnt expect a new game. What I expected was a fixed camera and atleast some new gameplay mechanics. Not just some prettier textures and more blood on screen.
Its a good game...but could have been more. |

The art direction looks awesome though. Bosses and settings look alot better than sigma. I actually want to buy this game. I thought sigma looked a bit meh. |

According to Teamxbox the slowdown and framerate issues are only in review builds, and the retail builds have sorted this problem. Cool if so.
I'm definitely not missing out on this one anyway! |

8 a low score?! Whoever thinks that is an idiot.
Sounds brilliant. Never got into the Ninja Gaiden games before or 'awt like that. I think I might actually buy this when it comes down in price, need a game that challenges now I've completed Streets of Rage 2 on hard!  |

Awwwwwww yeeeeeeeeaaaah! This is more like it! Never had an issue with the camera once I got used to the fighting system- usually just held block down if the camera was being a pain- once righted it was on with the chop-age!
Once I've purchased this only... (looks at list of games he needs) 30 or so left to go... oh dear god. |

I don't think anybody was expecting a AAA title but a 8.0 is still a very good score.

Eurogamer said it had more slowdown in 1080p, did you guys notice it being any better in lower resolutions? |

i don't know. what with all the "loss of face" and NG2 will blow NGS (which is "not good") out of the water smack talking, i was expecting a bit more than this. hopefully more scores like this will humble Itagaki. i may opt to purchase it whenever it goes Platinum Hits or something.

To be honest I don't see how Ninja Gaiden could ever be a AAA title- it certainly is in my book, but I think the majority of the gaming world don't all have the Jedi like reflexes need to get anywhere in the game... nor the patience.
Basically it's a very niche title- more of the same is fine by me... so I'd probably bump that score up a wee bit  |

Probably pick it up when it drops to 20 quid. I don't want Itagaki to get too much of my money, what with him being an absolute nob.

May i suggest you read the bit at the start of Games (sorry CVG). If 5 is average, how can 8 be crap?
And anyway play the game before you decide if it's good or not.
As you can tell I'm looking forward to it and even if it isnt a great leap from NG it doesn't matter, cant wait.

8's a good score - good review aswell may I add. Did I read someone say IGN gave it an 8.7? I'll have to head over there and have a little read in a minute. I don't know why people are saying it's been hyped - no way has NG II been hyped as much as other games this year.
The camera didn't bother me in the slightest in NGB. I reigned it in, as it were, once I got used to it. It's good to see that the hard bottlenecks are back. Call me masochistic, but I quite liked that while playing NGB - it had me on edge not knowing that when I turned the next corner, I could have a stupidly hard fight on my hands by either 2 ninjas, or a boss the size of a bus. Plus, I thought the save points were perfectly placed in NGB.
Apart from one save point I remember, where I had to keep restarting from it - as soon as I restarted, I got 2/3 spider-clan ninjas jump at me trying to slice me up. I had to laugh, or I would have cried.
I pre-ordered this game about a month ago. All I really want is more of the same like NGB, with a few new elements thrown in. By the looks of it, that's what I've got

um, thats just the thing. who said 5 was average? who even said that average meant "good"? just because 5 is the midway point between 0 and 10 doesn't make it an average in a scoring system. to me average means passable, and for $60 a game has to be more than just passable for me to invest. i personally would never buy a game that scored 5 or 6 unless i tried it out for myself first and liked it. 7 is generally considered average on any site, while 8 to 8.9 is above-average to good. AAA games are the ones that usually score 9 or above. in any case i don't always go by review scores. review scores can be just as jaded and biased as most fanboy posters, plus there are too many variables (like the possibility of under-the-table money exchanging) to consider. as it stands NG2 wasn't really one of the 360 games i was drooling for.

Hehe, dont take this personally but that is the stupidest thing I have heard in my life. On a scale of 1 to 10, 5 is average, simple as. Not because i said it or anyone else it just is! I dont think anyone said 5 is good either to be fair, your away on your own little track here. 5 is an average game, nothing special, doesnt do anything new, may appeal to some people, may not.
I dont go by review scores either but since that is what people are bitching about i just had to mention it. |

sounds pretty much like everything I expected it to be- more of the same, with the same issues as the first time but some new goryness to add to it. In any event, I'll probably pick it up, since I loved the first game (even though I never did manage to beat the final boss) and just played the demo of Sigma to remind me how much fun it was.
I don't think it'll be a major system seller or anything- it was never going to be, after all- but it'll appeal to the fans at least.

I totally agree with you mate, 5 is in no way average when it comes to review scores. I will generally avoid any game that marks below a 7 as i reckon that is below average. |

8 is a good score. I have pre-ordered and am quite able to make up my own mind. Everyone is able to reach their own opinion. Why invest so much in someone elses?
